Our Services

Jewelry, if worn regularly, can break and eventually will require repair. Often our bodies change and the jewelry we wear also needs to be modified to look and fit proportionate to our physical size. Whether it be sizing a ring or checking the diamonds in your ring to insure they are mounted correctly, our team of experienced bench jewelers has 80 plus years of combined experience to satisfy your needs.
Yelverton Jewelers has the new state of the art laser welder. This new addition to our repair shop has opened many doors to the jewelry repair industry. “We can repair what everyone else says they can’t”
Jewelry repairs are performed on the premises. No task is too complicated and our jewelers work on all varieties of metals:
  • Platinum
  • Gold
  • Silver
We are experts when it comes to replacing or adding diamonds and gemstones to your treasured item.
The most common repairs are:
  • Sizing rings larger or smaller in finger size
  • Repairing breaks in bracelets, necklaces, rings
  • Replacing lost diamonds or gemstones
  • Checking prongs on rings to insure they are not worn and are correctly holding the stone. If the prongs or mounting is worn:
    • Re-tipping or building up the prongs to their original condition
    • Rebuilding worn shanks (the bottom and side of rings) that have worn over time
    • Replacing the head (center of ring) to insure the stone remains attached to the ring
  • Soldering Engagement Rings and wedding bands together

  • Batteries

Your jewelry is usually one the most expensive item(s) that you own. If lost, stolen, or willed to others, you will need a value that has credibility with the insurance company, relatives, or the courts so they can verify its true value. What was purchased several years ago will appreciate over time and thus the need for keeping your valuables appraised at today’s market.
Yelverton Jewelers has an on staff gemologist and all appraisals are performed on the premises by owner Darrell Yelverton who is Gemology of America Diamond and Colored Stone (GIA) certified. Your appraisal will come with two copies, one for your records and one for your insurance company. A full description, including measurements, pictures and retail value that can be used for insurance purposes.

Jewelry can and does change over a period of time. You may find that your once-loved piece is out-of-date and does not match your current wardrobe or is out of vogue with the latest styles. We often find that opposed to the item(s) just sitting in a jewelry box at home, it does have some value and can be traded. We will review your item(s) and give you a fair credit towards the purchase of a new jewelry item.
If you decide that you want to sell your jewelry items, bring them in for us to examine and evaluate them. If we determine that we have a need and there is a potential market for your jewelry items, we will pay you a fair price.

It is not uncommon that you may wish to pay for your purchase over a period of time. We will assist you in preparing the necessary forms that are required by our financial lender: Wells Fargo. It only takes a few minutes of your time in-house to see if you qualify.
